Shortly after running back Arian Foster signed with the Dolphins this summer, Dolphins coach Adam Gase said that “time will tell” if Foster is on the field for the first snap of games but that the veteran is “going to be rolling with the ones” during the 2016 season.
It looks like Foster will be able to start rolling with the ones from the start of the regular season. Foster is listed as the starting running back on the team’s Week 1 depth chart after sitting behind Jay Ajayi on earlier versions.
Gase said that Foster’s experience and his performance in camp helped him jump Ajayi, the story said. Damien Williams is the No. 3 with Isaiah Pead and rookie Kenyan Drake in the “other” category. It’s a tough Week 1 matchup against the Seahawks and keep in mind the team does not want to substitute players during drives so Ajayi should still be a factor. But for now Foster looks to be the safer fantasy play.
